If Lucy Connolly was jailed for stirring up racial hatred, the same must go for BBC Director General Tim Davie, says Nick Rendell. Davie personally took the decision to broadcast Bob Vylan's antisemitic chant to millions.

Shell start work at Arghoose compound in Erris - day of action called

category mayo | environment | news report author Friday July 22, 2011 14:26author by Andrew - Dublin S2S Report this post to the editors

Rossport Solidarity Camp is reporting that this morning Shell started work at the compound in Aughoose where they intend to start digging the tunnel to house a section of the experimental high pressure raw gas pipeline that has been opposed for a decade by the local community.

The private security company IRMS had 70+ personnel there who closed off the main Aughoose to Glengad road illegally this morning and refused to allow anyone to pass through. Two Shell to Sea campaigners were injured after being dragged out of compound. Gardai were nowhere to be seen this morning, presumably to allow IRMS a free hand.

Rossport Solidarity Camp have just put out a call for a day of action July 29th (next Friday). Dublin Shell to Sea are organising a bus leaving 6pm Thursday evening to return Friday evening. For more details contact them at at dublins2s@gmail.com phone: 086 736 2417

More details to follow as we get them
