With the rise of woke authoritarianism it's not that we are not becoming more like China, argues Dr David McGrogan, but that we are becoming more like ourselves as the dark inner logic of secular modernity pushes through.

Protesters continue to frustrate Shell's work

category mayo | environment | news report author Sunday February 17, 2013 18:16author by rossportauthor email rossportsolidaritycamp at gmail dot comauthor phone 0851141170 Report this post to the editors

This last week has been another week of resistance to Shell controversial pipeline, with numerous truck blockades and disruption to workers.

In solidarity with our friend Izzy Ní Ghraidm, we have continued to keep up the pressure on Shell by blocking trucks and workers throughout the day.
Shell workers arrive at 6.30am and there are up to 105 truck movements per day so there's plenty of chance to show your opposition and support the local community.

Shell was forced to admit that they had been experiencing problems with the Tunnel Boring Machine after it was announced on the radio that work on the tunnel had resumed.
However just days after this was announced there are rumours flying of further problems.

As the photo of Glengad shows, the Shell compound has expanded and is now just next to the old camp field. It is a real eyesore on this beautiful landscape but it is not too late to stop it.
Come up and support this community under siege from Shell.

So sad to see this landscape and community having to take this and so frustrating to be unable to travel up and help at present.
Thank you to everyone who is still hanging on in there in whatever form. If nothing else we need witnesses to this.
How much better off we are that a tiny but courageous fraction of the population have stood against this and made sure that the story is being told and changed day by day.
In 10, 20, 50 years time we will see the true implications of this time.
Never stop. Never shut your eyes
