The Irish commercial media, RTE and Peruvian drug trafficking

Drug trafficking in Peru and RTE's coverage of it.

The media handling of the entire issue of the Irish girl arrested in connection with drug trafficking in Peru is completely bizarre, hypocritical and prejudiced. There is no evidence established that she was not a willing trafficker. She has been turned into an overnight hero by the Irish bourgeois media including RTE. Yet there was little publicity given to Marian Price while she was incarcerated. In Ireland individuals charged with drug offences are not treated with the same concern as is the case for this Irish girl. Indeed the bourgeois media demonizes those charged with drug offences in Ireland.
