Talk and Consensus-Based Workshop
the feminist an anarchist challenges to the concept of rights, as well as why the rights-based position has become increasingly rare and controversial within the animal ‘rights’ movement.
this week's session will begin with the talk we missed in part one, which explores the feminist an anarchist challenges to the concept of rights, as well as why the rights-based position has become increasingly rare and controversial within the animal ‘rights’ movement.
for the second half, we will continue with the workshop. there will be time for discussion as usual, but this week - if everyone is ok with the idea - we will focus mainly on the practical section, which includes: problem solving in campaigning situations, using both the ethos of care and rights-based theory, and exploring the connections between them, sharing practical ways in which our daily advocacy could be transformed by an uncompromising commitment to rights-based theory and language.
thanx as always to everyone who attended the first session for their thoughtful contributions. hope to see you this time too to continue to share perspectives on this vitally important and neglected issue.
