Fitting tribute to fallen IRA volunteer Seamus Mclaughlin

Last week on June 8th volunteer Seamus McLaughlin died in his adopted city of Dublin. Seamus was born in Ardoyne on February 22nd 1938. ", At an early age Seamus joined the ranks of the IRA and soon became OC of his local unit. England's difficulty, Ireland’s opportunity had always been the rallying cry of Irish Republicans and this young soldier of the l.R.A took Ireland's fight for freedom to the 'belly of the beast' in England, where he and his family endured many hardships including the loss of close comrades. Forced to live for decades on the run and his love for his family, community and country never wavered.

For two days and nights volunteers of Dublin Brigade Oglaigh Na H-Eireann held a guard of honour as a fitting tribute to a fallen comrade volunteer Seamus Mclaughlin
Comrades of Seamus will continue to remember him, and all those who gave their lives for Irish freedom, with dignity and respect as we strive to provide the only fitting tribute to them - which remains the realisation of the reunified, independent and democratic Ireland for which they died.
Deepest sympathies to his daughter, Hilda and his grandchildren and may he rest in peace forever with his late wife, Mary.
