Clean Coasts Big Beach Clean weekend will be taking place on the 18th, 19th & 20th September. This year they are teaming up with the International Ocean Conservancy again for the International Coastal Clean-up event. Last year 560,000 volunteers in 91 countries removed 7,257 tonnes of marine litter from the world's oceans.

Why not organise a clean up in your local area and be part of the world's largest coastal clean up weekend!

Coastal clean ups will be taking place in over 92 countries over the weekend as part of the International Coastal Clean Up run by the Ocean Conservancy for which An Taisce is the national coordinator for Ireland. The Big Beach Clean Weekend is a clean up with a difference; all groups are asked to record information about the amount and type of litter found using the Clean Coasts data cards. All the information from participating countries is collected and used by the Ocean Conservancy to guide marine policy and engage people in protecting the ocean and its wildlife for future generations.

If you would like to join the movement for litter free seas and be part of the world's largest coastal cleanup event and marine litter survey, please register now and receive a free cleanup kit!
