Jump To Comment: 1 2yes the points about Nato and militarism are good, but dont forget the euro cops, they can do a lot of damage and have huge new powers as well as all their old ones.
My article was only looking at the militarism side of things. The EU is advancing in a nasty way on lots of fronts. Researching the militarism side of things took me the best part of a month of reading treaties, EU security conference abstracts, etc. That's 4 years in human years. In truth no one individual could adequately research all implications of a complicated treaty like Nice, but happily I am not alone! The WSM has put a lot of effort into researching Nice and we're producing detailed reports on 4 key areas of Nice: police powers, militarism, Fortress Europe & Trade liberalisation.
