Indymedia.org is creeking along and falling down alot.

At our last meeting we hummed and hawed about changing lists.

There should be no debate.

1. No spam.

2. Independence.

3. Anything we can do no matter how small to help remove some of the strain on indymedia.org.

How about Topica? Gluaiseacht use that service and it's pretty good. I set up a test list to see how difficult it was...

Can be set for users only (i.e. no spam)

Is free

No ads included like Yahoo

Generally reliable, it's very rare that messages are delayed.

Quite a few list manager options that are simple to set up and change.

As I have said quite a few times before, we already have facilities to set up lists on our own server using the same software as lists.indymedia.org so no problem switching over.

If everyone happy with a new list server then I'll go ahead and do it.

We should, I can't really see why anyone would object to indymedia.ie lists.

Go Paul!

just lists.indymedia.org, it was down until about 4pmish today. Although indymedia.org will probably go down soon again. Let's give 'em a percentage of our fundraising.

wot fundraising?
