Here is email i received today in Cork. Further details hopefully to follow.
The US ambassador to Ireland, Richard Egan, has been invited to speak in UCC on Thursday 26 September. With the Bush administration continuing its drive for full-scale war on Iraq, this visit provides us with an opportunity to demonstrate our support for an end to this war-mongering. A picket is being organised and (obviously) it would be really good if as many people as possible turned out.
It's an awkward time - 1pm on Thursday, 26 September (outside the Boole Library) - but if there is any way at all that you can make it, be there!
Bring your friends, brother, sister, grandmother, dog, cat, etc. etc. - the more the merrier!

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4prime example of corporate globalisation, Egan was one of Dubya's top campaign funders and bought himself the Irish gig. Check out his profile on the web... he has virtually NO diplomatic or political experience!!
BUSINESS BUYS CAPITALIST POLITICS!
he's also one of the ENRON buckos!!!!
Thank you so very much. Contrary to what the corporate media is presenting to you all (and here too for that matter) there is indeed growing dissent to the immoral global oil war being planned, over here in the US. Keep it up and keep the greedy, global corporate fat cats in line......

What's the deal with the Boole and pro-war American guests?
I was down there a few months back to see old Henry Kissinger. I managed to get some photos before a cop assaulted me. (no warning, no apology, no reason, NO NUMBER)
