Duchas say they have granted a licence for the excavation of archaeological remains by mechanical diggers at Carrickmines starting on Monday 30th September. This is in order to collect artifacts from the site. It means the destruction of the information which would be obtained by a full archaeological excavation. As such it is in breach of the motorway order and Environmental Impact Assessment.
