A chickenhawk is a term often applied to public persons - generally male - who (1) tend to advocate, or are fervent supporters of those who advocate, military solutions to political problems, and who have personally (2) declined to take advantage of a significant opportunity to serve in uniform during wartime.

Ummm, I thought a Chickenhawk was an active paedophile???? I don't raise this to insult paedophiles by comparing them to George W Bush but that's the only usage I've heard it with.

Perhaps thats what it means in Europe but in America it is the term we use to describe drunken illiterate frat boys installed by their daddy's elite friends.

i suppose it's a cultural difference?
