to be able to see whats new on the site
Its seems that as days go by some articles sink lower on the newswire list, dispite the fact they are hot and still being discussed - this sort of buries them and doesnt help continue the discussion.
Im suggesting, and perhaps this will happen in the new version of the site, that someone who visits the site in the morning and then logs on in the evening can see which topics have had messages added.
Showing the date of the original post is ok but there should be a way to see which topics are still being discussed.
What do people think?
In terms of search engines and looking up a large topic like education or pollution perhaps we need defined classifications which would function as drop down menus so people select when they publish what the article is about

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7The problem with this idea is that it would probably prolong the inter organisation rows that break out regularly indefinetly as people would feel a need to keep replying. Right now because they sink slowly into the past the come to a natural end after three or so days.
I do think these rows have some use to activists but generally the first half dozen posts contain 99% of the useful discussion and after that they descend into slagging matches. Anyway the IMC list is really the place to be discussing this
One of the Dada features is article categorisation, which would make it easier to find articles about education, or anti-war activities. Debates falling down the newswire can be irritating, but Andrew's probably right that sorting articles by last comment would tend to push the arguments to the fore and drown out the news.
Not to mention the Ray and Pat show which frequently continues way back in the archives out of site to most!
If we keep this up for just a little while longer we'll knock The Black and White Minstrel Show off its perch!

The nature of cyber-communication is temporal transcendental.
And Iīll not tell you more here because itīs quite properly answered in numerous articles published overground and Iīll not risk more lawsuits against that publisher.
Why donīt you set up a discussion site?
its quite easy to do and Iīm sure lost of people in Ireland would help you were it to be "neutral", "independent", and "free".
you could then paste articles you like here there for further debate.

has been suggested as a discussion site a few times, though it seems to be having some problems today.
But I can't see the political debates moving there, because they're triggered by news articles and this is where the news articles are published.
