Based on a conversation I had with one of their representatives this afternoon
This afternoon i spoke to Marcella Smith from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
All she could tell me was they were doing their best for Caoimhe and Mary. When I asked had they been in contact with Caoimhe I could practically hear her confused shrug down the phone. She did not know if they had the phone numbers for Caoimhe or any of the international civilians around the compound and she did not take them from me.
When I told her the Irish Peace Alliance were calling for the Irish government to take decisive action such as stop US military from using our airports as they provide military support to a government which is putting two of our civilians in danger she told me Brian Cowen had made a statement saying the Irish government backs the UN calls for both sides to step down their military action.
When I told her that did not answer my question she told me it did. I repeated the question and asked if the answer was no, she told me I was being aggressive and she had answered all my questions. I asked her again would the Irish government be, at least temporarily be stopping US military from refuelling in Irish airports, she once again quoted Brian Cowen, which I told her did not answer my question.
It went on like this for a while, I am going to assume Ireland will not be doing anything practical to prevent Israeli State Terrorism in Palestine or to help our citizens in danger there.
