Buy Nothing Day mobilisation

Car Free DAy analysis and Buy nothing day plans and ideas

Meeting in Conways this Tuesday 22nd at 7.30.

Please arrive on time if you can, but come at any
time as we need numbers to contribute to paying for the use of their room.

On the agenda: some back slapping :) but also some good feedback on Sept 22nd's party - what could be improved, how to build on it's success.

Also ideas for upcoming Buy Nothing Day wanted aswell.

Shopping trolleys in bays outside shopping centres are a nice target for chaining, padlocking. Shopping baskets inside stores could likewise be compromised.
How about filling trolleys on the day only to be abandoned in the shop.
Food not Bombs type events outside fastfood outlets.
Bring yer sambo's and have a picnic in fastfood seats on the day.....

Round here, people on social welfare buy nothing or very little *every* day.
They wish they could buy more. I agree with them.
