A demonstration in favour of peace and against the use of Shannon airport by US armed forces is scheduled for 2pm in Cork city on Saturday, 16 November. Organised by the Cork Peace Alliance, it will include a parade through the city centre and a mock funeral for Irish military neutrality. All welcome! Assembly point is Daunt Square.

Jump To Comment: 1On Nov 16th thousands of U.S. citizens will be resisting at a terrorist training camp in Colombus, Georgia - the School of the Americas, Ft. Benning. 40 folks remain in jail from last years resistance/trespass.

Nov 16 is good day to be on the streets against U.S. terror....the anniversary of the 1989 slaying of 6 Jesuits and 2 Salvadoran co-workers by graduates trained in Georgia.
Many of the U.S. soldiers commuting through Shannon would have recieved their training at Ft. Benning (the SOA is only one section of the base where 10,000 Colombian troops have passed throught in the past 10 years.)
We will be outside the US Embassy with LASC from 2pm - 4 pm....**wear black in soldiarity with all those slain by the graduates of SOA
