Palestinian Delegate General to speak in Cork tonight

A public meeting is being held in Cork tonight (Thursday, 11th April) to discuss the current crisis in the Middle East and will be addressed by the Palestinian General Delegate (Ambassador) in Ireland, Dr. Ali Halimeh.

A public meeting is being held in Cork tonight (Thursday, 11th April) to discuss the current crisis in the Middle East and will be addressed by the Palestinian General Delegate (Ambassador) in Ireland, Dr. Ali Halimeh.

The meeting is organised by the Cork Peace Alliance, which currently has two of its peace activists - Mary Kelly and Caoimhe Butterly - in Palestine and who have opted to remain there in an attempt to act as a detterent to further attrocities by occupying Israeli forces.

Tonight's meeting will be held at the Shandon Court Hotel, John Redmond Street, Cork at 8pm. A large attendance is expected.

Cork Peace Alliance hopes to have an up-to-date report from the two Cork women in Palestine and the alliance is confident of mobilising public opinion against the Israeli aggression and launcing a boycott of Israeli goods until such time as Israel complies with UN mandates and intenrational law and withdraws from occupied territory in Palestine.
