in memory RIP of 'il professore' Francesco Di Martino.
senator for life of the Italian Republic (1991) ex- secretary general of PSI the Italian Socialist Party. who stood in 1983 on a joint PSI/PCI Socialist and communist platform for election to the Senate. For 40 years professor of Roman Law at the university of Fredirick II.
At the age of 95 years is reported the death of il Senatore e Dotorre, Francesco Di Martino born May 31st 1907.
He taught for forty years as a roman and early european legal specialist and inspired generations of european and italian socialist and marxist thinkers.
Known to his political and social friends and opponents alike as "Il professore" Di Martino entered the PSI Italian Socialist Party in the 1950s. He entered the secretariat of that party in 1960s from 1963-1977 he held the responsiblities of secretary general.

Andreotti has been given a sentance of 24 years for his part in the murder of a journalist and a systematic attack on freedom of expression and liberty of thought across generations of Italian and European life.
Cardinal Ruini spokesperson for the Vatican State and cardinal president of the CEI policy making organ has described the sentance as "pesantissima" [=very heavy].

Antonio Martino defence minister of the Italian Republic has described the objectives of the Prague NATO summit as the ability to place 21 thousand combat ready in a week.
He has also called for Turkey΄s accesion to the EU.
