Press Release 4pm
At 3pm Carrickminders raised the blockade again today by locking the gate at the enterance of the Castle's site in S. Co. Dublin.
Yesterdays blockade had come to a peaceful conclusion when Archeologists agreed to remove a large digger. This digger had been placed there and was being used in violation of the original agreemement between Carrickminders and Valerie J
Keeley, the on-site Archeological Consultant.
This morning Valerie J Keeley archeologists moved a large digger out the Castle yard to the south side of the enclosure using it for Archeology work.
Carrickminders will allow archeological excavations to continue but will peacefully prevent large diggers and machinery from entering the sensitive archeological site.
The peaceful blockade will continue Monday and until such time as the digger as removed completely from the Castle site.
Carrickminders call on all interested parties to come and witness the blockade and voice their opinion.
