This article is on the cover of the UK version of the Observer, by the way... it's not just on the "localised" version of the paper.

if the scandals of lies and deception revealed today in the papers do not help to widen the anti war movement in ireland and bring about a response/action by the government when they return to the Daíl at the end of the month, i don't know what will.
all the broadsheets (i'm not including the independant here) and many of the tabloids are covering the story, the mail even has a picture of the troops in duty free. it is fantastic also to see the pictures from the protest in dublin on thurday and continuous mention of Eion Dubskys trial.
The peace camp is central to this campaign and despite recent success in bringing the use of Shannon into the main stream agenda, our role will continue until the warport concludes its dangerous, deceptive and complicit role. numbers at the camp are growing as is the spirit of of the commitment to peace. if you are in support of of the anti war movement and its many different campaigns, there is alot you can do to help keep up the pressure for change: support the protest on the 18th of jan and 15th feb; write to you local/national papers, TDs, minister of transport, foreign affairs and bertie himself. call up radio stations; talk to friends and family; get yourself informed; join local anti war groups. and from our perspective come to the peace camp, have a chat with us, stay a while perhaps, and of course donations of food, funds and firewood are still desperatly needed!
solidarity, pressure on the warmongerers and broadening the movement is what will help to stop the use of shannon as a warport and help prevent miliary agression.
