¿an bhfuil aon duine an amhran a cur as gaeilge?

;i mean you´ve done the international in irish so why not bella ciao?

:-) you sporty types in the 4th international could get a good game going, less donnybrook than some others eh?

st pauli fans, celtic fans & BRIGATE AUTONOME LIVORNESI united!

I'm working on the sash at present:

Bhí sé sean ach bhí sé go hálainn,
Agus bhi na dathanna go brea...

Anyone got Bella Ciao in English?

"An Sash a chaith m'athair mhor" is the version I heard before at a rather unusual gathering a few years ago. Can't remember the rest of the words though - but something tells me it's been recorded cause I think it was on RnaG once.

Bella Ciao as bearla at http://home.planet.nl/~elder180/strijdlied/bellaciaoeng.htm

(this is a great (Dutch) site, for that song it has 4 versions and generally has what you're looking for).

from memory ( i learnt a sicilia version)
there are a few.

One moring was I woken by the invador.
bella ciao bella ciao ciao ....
Oh partisan come and help me
bella ciao bella ciao ciao (now you can´t go translating bella ciao can you?¿?)
-----------------[beautiful hello/goodbye]

if I would die then know
bella ciao ciao
there is a place where i would lie
in the shade of a flower
the flower of liberty.

it´s something like that. I´ll check and come back if not so. I love the tune.
but that´s the main gist.
partigiano! nella sombra del un bell fior.
the sicilian is the less bolshevik version up north they had much worse fighting and atrocities to "avenge" don´t they always.

is the gaeilge version "Doire"??
Odd how eniskillen and boyne are so far from ulster. Most people have forgotten that when first staged Séan O´Casey character Orange Lil spoke with a dublin accent.
There are still many lodges of the Orange order in the Dublin and Wicklow area.
and I just went to the link and saw how off my version of bella ciao was..the real thing is much longer.
when does the MP3 link come for international as gaeilge and Bella Ciao?
