Shannon is a refuelling stop for these aircraft. Where does this fuel come from? It must be delivered to Shannon by the oil companies. Another focus of the protest might be thise deliveries. Could the truckers union be urged not to make those deliveries? It would then be interesting if the Irish army was asked to step in to do the dirty job!
Just an idea.

in that eircom story is bizarre. Is it there by accident or is it intended to suggest that in order to prevent ricin-related stabbings we have to export munitions to dictatorships?

Also, I doubt that Irish firms are getting those contracts solely because the US is allowed to violate our neutrality (can't believe I'm having this discussion!), but rather that our de-unionised and young workforce is cheaper and hence some shaggers that run Iona, SkillSoft etc can rent us out for less than the other European nations.

article says subsidiary staffed by US citizens got the US DoD contracts. So, where do those US citizens live. Does the company pay tax to the US or to Ireland. How much money comes back to Ireland. How cheaply are we allowing Mr.Murphy to sell our neutrality?
