Protest at Dail tonight at 6pm against government's support for war on Iraq & use of Shannon by US military

NO WAR ON IRAQ

US MILITARY OUT OF SHANNON

Protest this evening (Weds.) 6pm at the Dail

The Irish Anti-War Movement has called a demonstration outside the Dáil (Kildare St) today (Wednesday 29th) between 6 and 7pm. The demo is to protest at the government's continued support for the drive to war on Iraq and in particular at the weekend decision by Transport Minister Seamus Brennan to permit "munitions of war" be carried on flights through Shannon. We are also supporting a motion being tabled in the Dail at 7pm by TDs Joe Higgins and Tony Gregory on Iraq and the use of Shannon.

Bring banners/placards etc. For more information contact Richard on 087 6329511 or Aoife on 087 7955013

It's odd that the press release above does not mention Mary Kellys action last night. Do the IAWM support that sort of thing?

It would be interesting to ring up Pat Rabbit and ask him his opinions.

The Dáil Motion condemning the use of Shannon Airport as a military staging post is also being supported by Finian McGrath, the Green Party and Sinn Féin. Mary Kelly should be commended on her actions which has brought the whole issue centre stage once again.

I hate reading shit with 'ye' stuck all over the fucking place. Learn to fucking speak or at least write. The only one who is small minded is you. You show your lack of small minded rascist bogger mentality through your complete lack of understanding of the motives behind war and you have the nerve of calling those opposing the drive to war small minded. Fuck off you idiot!

Why don't you lot at the gate pack your bags and head over to Iraq as additions to the human shield? Make sure you send your exact location to the heads of state so they may blow you away with your small minded destructive ideas that is feeding ignorance to other vulnerable unemployed wasters! This idea of breaching the fence at Shannon is putting decent air travellers lives at risk when planes are landing / taking off - ever think of saving those lives? I hope the Guards set the dogs on ye next time. Ye are a disgrace and set a poor image to people visiting our great country. What's to be gained by sticking cameras and hidden microphones in authority's faces, I'd ram those up where the sun don't shine and ye wouldn't sit down for a week, now shag off to Iraq.
