And the call is made . . .

As the political finger wagging and mutterings of disapproval continue the grip we have on our current power to make a difference is quickly fading from our view, being replaced by the dark shadow of the American war machine which - when maximum momentum is reached - will roar blindly through all opposition and hear no one over the sound of their own engines.

This we know, and have seen before, and is why we shout our disapproval and feel so hurt and betrayed when our representatives openly turn their eyes away and ignore our own laws and their own not-too-distant, self-gratifying, false and feeble promises to uphold and deliver security of such laws. Whether American planes are carrying munitions or not we know they are planning to go to war. Whether the great George W. says he wishes for peaceful resolution or not, we know he is unreasonable when it comes to getting what he wants. Overall the sad truth is that we as a country are by no means even sitting on that fence of indifference, uninvolved and unaccountable, we are openly participating in this injustice, we are aiding and abetting, our international voice cries out to the world that politically we are the shriveled spud that gets kicked about the floor - the half-way stop for the sickening, rancid bacteria that is war, as it is transported between the boots of the children kicking each other under the table of 'justice', 'peace' and 'security'. Neutrality? Sadly Mr. Bush forgot to drop that back in to us on his way home from Afghanistan.

I must state openly that I am in full support of all the works and actions of the peace camp, and stand by the politicians who support the fight to prevent death on a colossal scale. However it has become increasingly obvious to me that it doesn't seem to matter how much we voice our discontent, beyond the barrier of our own administration the American dictatorship will not hear what it does not want to hear. As yet they have both refused to acknowledge our laws, our neutrality and our determined tut-tutting and finger-wagging, but have simply continued on as-you-were please - why stop when you can wear blinkers and ear muffs.

Time is running out. Mass demonstrations scheduled for the 15th of February are set AFTER two dates on the grapevine for declaration of war - namely Feb. 5 and 14., and the large part of the population feels powerless to make a difference, despite the fact that the large majority are in opposition to the effort for war in Iraq.
None-the-less we can do something, and yes we can be heard, we can refuse to accept participation in this ill fated cause and we can show America that in order to gain our support here they will have to invade and occupy us too. To do this we must let the murderous masses know without doubt that they cannot stretch their legs and refeul their egos on our patch - why? BECAUSE

My proposal is to support the Shannon Peace-Camp activists en-mass, not on any particular day but whenever possible, as many as can get there whenever they can. It's time to bring about the next stage in the stand for peace and respect of humanity. All those in opposition to our participation should arrive with all manner of chains, ropes, locks and clips. Bring what public officials and politicians you can and descend on the runways and parked planes. The American Military have broken our law and reduced us to a quivering, burbling, powerless and pathetic heap and we must now claw back our dignity and let the world know that the American administration may defy human consciousness, and all basic decency and humanity, but we will not support this evil. All American military planes, whether armed or not are on the way to war - they now it, we know it, you know it (Sitting as you are with a weekend of oblivious rest and relaxation facing you). For their crimes their planes must be impounded and all who travel on them must be deported back to America for defying Irish law. I'm not asking you to go to war, I'm asking you to respect decency, or at least to uphold our laws, no one will do it for you. by the time the politicians stop talking and begin telling our security forces what action to take thousands will have died, and the war machine will be unstopable - the ball is on our patch now, it's time to rip it to shreds and let them know that this is no game, this is about the lives of ordinary people, millions of ordinary people who will die in part because of you if the planes that land are allowed to take off again.
