an evening of alternative DJ music
takes place at the Bridgeford, Drogheda on Friday, April 26 from 8pm till late.
Organised by Drogheda Globalise Resistance the evening will include 6 DJs
playing music such as punk, ska/reggae, new wave, soul and funk, hip-hop,
indie and modern dance.
it is being billed as alternative music for an alternative world.
It is hoped to have imagery of various international and national protests
beamed onto the walls during the evening and have a contingent of asylum
seekers from the nearby Mosney holding centre present.
Stalls of various left-leaning parties and campaigns groups will have the
chance to distribute leaflets and inform those present of their ideas for an
alternative world in a separate chill-out room.
Half the proceeds from the evening will go towards the cost of court cases
connected with the Burlington Hotel and the US embassy.
The other half will be used locally in ongoing campaigns such as a proposal
to build an incinerator in the heart of the Boyne Valley; bin charges in
Drogheda and anti-racist work.
tickets cost 8 euro on the door and 6 euro in advance.
