British intelligence leaks including propaganda are being aimed at convincing opponents to the upcoming Iraqi War to change sides.
The leaks are aimed at the UK along with people in
Europe. The argument being put forth is that the Allies are so advanced technically that the civilian death rate will be low.
At the beginning of this war Saddam’s home town, Tikrit, will be destroyed. Government Ministries and properties owned by President Hussein's family are also targeted in the opening air raids. The offensive will occur on two fronts: an armoured attack from Kuwait, and another by air to secure the country’s oil fields [per Beaumont and Beaver in The Observer,
2/2/03].
The propaganda push coincides with increasing opposition to the war in the form of mass protests, the largest anticipated worldwide demonstration of which is planned for February 15th.
