Journalist to fight Shannon High Court injunction
12:32 Wednesday February 5th 2003
A Freelance journalist is to fight a High Court injunction restraining protestors from trespassing on Aer Rianta land at Shannon airport. It follows the placing of an injunction at the court this morning, which is designed to prevent future demonstrations at the Co Clare airport. Eamonn Crudden claims he is entitled to access to lands at Shannon to record the movement of US warplanes who are using the airport to refuel on route to the Middle East. His legal team argues that there is significant public interest in the use of Shannon by American troops to warrant this and says the lands are state owned. He has already provided footage, photos and reports to the national media, but following the issuing of a high court injunction access to the land is now prohibited. Other protestors who were part of the now dismantled Shannon peace camp have agreed to abide by the High Court injunction.

Anonymous, you nameless idiot, the point is that Eamonn's not a "peace camper" - take your cheerleading somewhere else, have you finished going around posting comments asking why the camp closed down? surely there's a virus warning or chain mail that you could be putting on the web?
Hey, what about the Nigerian money scam? That sounds like something a "Left Wing / Humanitarian" like you might be interested in...
Keep on the media struggle Eamonn :-)
make media - make trouble!
It's great to hear Indymedia getting a plug on the RTE news and I'm sure it'll be around the papers soon as well. Between them Brendan and Eamonn have done an outstanding job on PR!
