1. Anti war night at Liberty Hall

The Clé Club has been running in the Liberty Hall Centre every Monday night since October. It is a folk club with an open stage and has seen some very fine singers and musicians in the few short months since it opened.

The coming Monday 10th Feb will be dedicated to anti-war songs, in honour of the anti-war demonstration to be held in Dublin and all over Europe on Saturday next. Some of the proceeds from the night will be donated to the Anti-War Movement.

All are welcome to come and listen or sing.
9pm Monday 10th Feb.
E3 on the door.

2. Banner workshop

There will be a banner making workshop on Thursday 13th at NCAD on Thomas St. at 6pm. Materials such as paint, brushes, sheets, curtains and anything else you might have lying around, are always welcome, as are people with some time to donate to the cause.

3. Busk against Bush

100 guitars against Bush! From 6-9 on Friday the 14th Feb, all musicians (especially guitarists) are invited to participate in three hours of musical protest.

Meet 6pm at the Molly Malone statue at the end of Grafton st.

4. Saturday's demo

As upwards of 20,000 people are expected to attend the anti-war march in Dublin on Saturday, GR members will be meeting 3/4 of an hour before the march begins.

Assemble 1.15 at the Larkin statue on O'Connell St. Bring banners and flags, noise and enthusiasm.

See you there!

Does Globalise Resistance support direct action? Or do you just talk about Seattle for recruiting purposes? If GR supports direct action, what's GR position on the SWP stewarding of the march to prevent direct action on the 15?

Me thought direct action is a must when you try to stop or close something like new world leaders meeting. I cant see much need for direct action to show our opposition to the war....but if we all headed off to the American Embassy after the march who would know huh.....

Weren't they the SWP front that vanished before Iraq was this weeks hip cause Garreth Lambert Symth (Richard BB) can only set up front groups for this monthes most happening protest.

It was contemptable seeing Garreth getting Grace off the sit in at the Shannon demo last year, lets us know how serious Garreth (whos been to shannon what three times?) is to the anti war movement any chance to get his ugly gob on tv (like after the rts garreth ensured his face was in the late late crowd, despite the fact that he'd not be caught dead at anything as passé as a "fun" event) is what the fucker is after.

Garreth's current genius proposal for DA is to hand leaflets to soldiers at shannon on March 1st, way forward with a solid forceful direction action you spotlight grabbing little whore.

GR are a joke and you're right have as much interest in genuine direct action as a Rumsfeld does. Garret and IAWM have done nothing to raise awareness againist this war, the boys and girls at the peace camp have done that, Garret's just a gobshite.

Good work GR. The national and international protest should have a good effect. Hopefully the turnouts will be huge everywhere.

No wonder it ('King Mob') campaigns so strongly against abortion. It was a reject from the abortion bucket.

I know GR is a swp front but they are the only ones trying to do anything on anti globalisation in this country. SF does nothing they hardly even mention the words anti globalisation and the sp are just as bad, in factthey are a total disgrace. I admit GR did nothing to build the Shannon peace camp and even if they had turned up they would have been among those who ran from the army crackdown there. They are of course belatedly jumping on the anti war bandwagon.

You dumb bitch get your facts straight

Regarding above claim: bollix! What about the Grassroots Gathering, Cork Peace Alliance, etc. etc., plus mobs of unaffiliated individuals? GR only exists in Dublin anyway.

"Queen Mob" - I'm gonna beat you to the "Joy" by sorting this fucker out before ya....

Ref. CPA individual - I dont think the previous comment meant to say that GR is the only anti-globalization movement. I think they meant to explain that it is being looked upon as an SWP front because they are nearly the only ones trying to drive it foward.

"Garreth's current genius proposal for DA is to hand leaflets to soldiers at shannon on March 1st, way forward with a solid forceful direction action you spotlight grabbing little whore. "

The SWP came up with the idea of appealing to the Troops at a meeting on Sunday. This was cynically proposed to derail proposals for genuine direct action.

I'd say that 54th trimester abortion should be legalised just to get rid of all of those GR prickcunts. I have never come across a more cynical, pr orientated organisation in all my days. They don't care about making a difference just getting on the box to further their own political careers. RTS showed this and now there are standing in the way of anti war activity. And to those of you who say that 'at least they do something' you're wrong what they do is sap the life of those who believe and then spit them out for apathy to take over. Mickey.

C'mon Pat this is getting stupid. It's unhealthy for us to agree all the time.

But y'know in the face of momentail stupidity and arrgoance of Garreth Lambert Symth (as I will continue to refer to the smarmy media whore) we will set aside our differences.

I can see the leaflets now "defenders of Ireland stop the war, BY JOINING THE SWP". Dont follow orders blindly, free yourself join the swp and er follow orders blindly.

Oh and Alex I guarantee you'll be Queen Mob's bitch when I'm through with your and.

Freddie Star for King!!!!!!!

This kind of thread is what really pisses me off about Indymedia. The puerile infighting between the judean peoples front and the peoples front of Judea.

Why dont GR just set up their own website and treat each other to their pimple sqeezings where others actually care about them and leave those who want to turn this into a credible independent news channel to get on with the actual work of reporting.
