NYC Court Upholds Lower Court Ruling Forbidding March

United for Peace and Justice has lost its appeal to an earlier court ruling forbidding them to march in NYC on Feb.15.

The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court ruling saying that First Amendment rights are not being violated. The court did note that this was not a signal for the city to ban all marches in midtown saying this ruling only applies to Sat.15th of Feb.

Judge Barbara S. Jones ruled on Monday that the permit denial was justified in this “time of heightened security."
UFP has been allowed by the city to hold a stationary rally for 10,000 people five blocks north of the U.N.
