Critical Mass on May 6th in Eyre Sq. at 6pm, bring yourself and yer bike, board, wheelchair

Next Monday 6th May sees the fifth installment of
the Critical Mass Bike Ride,a massive show of strength from all those marginalised on the roads:
Bicycles,Skateboards,Wheelchairs,Skooters etc.
Galway's hugely successful initial Critical Mass on Car-Free-Day last September has spurred on cyclists and the like to create a no. of smaller
masses since then with moderate success.
But those crazy bastards are at it again and one
activist said 'May 6th will be a big one ....do you know what I mean...I am sick, sick to the high heavens of our lovely boithrins so full of life,
to be trounced upon with dual-ways and round-abouts and noisy cars and trucks where once was the gentle breeze of a carefree cyclist on their way to Belfast...and that was a long way in those
days...d'ya know-what I mean like...'
Another cyclist proclaimed:'I was nearly killt the
last day and I'm buckin',my friend suggested we carry sticks and defend ourselves from angry reckless cars,ha,ha,ha!I believe that they should be burned,BURNED I tell You in a massive heap on the terryland roundabout as a reminder to all who have died since they came in and invaded...my Grandmother always said to protect each other from the invader and that's what we're doing and that's what we'll continue to do....'
Others were not so fiery or hopeful as one commentator put it 'we have just got word from Government and they have said that they will implement a plan an all incusive plan that will
be good..really good,no really,why are you laughing,hey!...'
It seems as though there is an alliance being formed between these activists and while some are hell bent on trouble and lashings of terrorism it appears as though the alliance is holding strong between all the factions of the Critical Mass Movement. They will be out in numbers for their
cycle to Westside and will be stalling on the Quirke rd. for all the right reasons.
