The Shannon airport workers took the day off from helping the US army yesterday to march in Dublin

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Sunday February 16, 2003 23:01author by joe hill's dream

they can well afford to with all the overtime they are getting

Many people are saying that the Workers in Shannon airport are prepared to refuse to listen to their Trade Unions and will refuse to shut down Shannon if instructed to.

Even SIPTU are getting embarassed by the loyal support being given to the US army by their members and may support a token 1 day strike in order to show that they have a conscience. Some other Unions are horrified by what is going on in Shannon and dont want blood on their hands and are considering going ahead with action closing Shannon or blacking US flights without SIPTU if necessary.
