Which Irish companies?
According to the independent newsspeaker" behind them is a vast international mix of prospectors that include companies large and small from China, Indonesia, Canada, Ireland and Vietnam". The article referes to oil companies waiting move into iraq. Does anybody know who these Irish companies are? Knowing more about who these companies are could explain more about our govenements policy to shannon etc...

In the meantime can any provide a list of of companies that have shops in the US military bases recently setup/upgraded in Kuwait etc?
I feel a day of organised picketing and leaflet handing out coming up.
Any definite names would be appreciated.

Dublin registered company listed in British exchange. Could not find address but a quick call to directory enquires would probably sort it.
Very interested to see the dirty word "John Teeling" mentioned here. Teeling is what used to be known by US economists as an "Undertaker." He was involved in the butout and literal shutdown of Irish hosiery company Glen Abbey back in the 1980s, and virtually every company he touches seems to end up going to wall, amid nice profits to owners and shareholders and grief to workers.
I wouldn't give much for any oil company backed up by Teeling. Besides its very difficult to assess the value of oilfields in Iraq as long as the current regime exists, whatever the merits or demerits of it. All we know is what they export.
Somehow, I'd also guess that the quality of the oilfield and the standards by international standards may be questionable. A veteran oil engineer recently told me that standards in the US in one oil giant are so high that they literally bring devices like childrens bathing pools to put under their vehicles, so that not a single drop of petroleum or other products can contaminate the area.
