Leprechauns Against War mobilise for Paddy's Day

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Monday February 24, 2003 13:53author by Darby O'Gill - Leprechauns Against War

This is for real - begorrah!

A number of anti-war Leprechauns will make an appearance at St. Patrick's Day Parades around Ireland and in New York to protest against plans for war against Iraq.

Spokes-chaun Darby O'Gill (him of the Little People) said that the brightly dressed Leprechauns would be making their presence felt in direct actions at various St. Patrick's Day parades and Mr. O'Gill urged the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern not to give any shamrock to the US President George Bush this year. He urged all anti-war politicians to stay away from the White House.

There will be a curse upon any shamrock that crosses the threshold of the White House. The last time our ire was stoked that mighty building caught fire. George would do well to avoid the curse of the shamrock.

Leprechauns Against War has urged all leprechauns to join in their protests. Non-leprechauns are also welcome to join in the direct action events. Just get a suitable costume, some shamrock and join in.
