Direct action continues against war machine across the globe
With a day of disobediance planned for Shannon airport, March 1st the weekend saw direct actions elsewhere. At the main US airbase in Europe activists tore the gates down and got into the base, report at http://uk.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=55082&group=webcast

Those couple of ropes tied to the top of the main gate were incredibly effective. I was truly taken aback that such a heavy, solid metal gate could be brought down as easily as this.
Fantastic tactic. Must try this at home.

Conor
Direct action = bad
Blockades = bad
Stewards, listen to the party leader, sell the paper, join the party, politicians, leaders (us), recruit-recruit-recruit = good
Given the pervasive presence of the U.S esp. economically throughout Ireland why confine any direct action to Shannon?
In Seattle activists constructed tripods in the middle of bridges on highways in order to disrupt traffic. In San Francisco breakaway black blocs targetted the Immigration and Naturalisation Services buildings.
This is the MOST unpopular war for a long time. People are fed up of marches, fed up of politicians. The time for direct action is now.
