Security Council are blackmailed, bullied: MEP Patricia McKenna

On her way to NYC to meet Kofi Annan, Green MEP Patricia McKenna said today that members of the U.N. security council were being bullied and blackmailed by the U.S. into agreeing to a new U.N. resolution. She said that some of these countries are very vulnerable and that the U.S is putting pressure on them by offering certain things or by threatening certain actions against them. This is a welcome departure by the Greens from the F.F. -F.G.-Labour-Sinn-Fein line that backing by the security council makes the impending mass murder of 1000s of Iraqi civilians legitiimate and justified.
