The Financial Times reports that Ben Tonra, lecturer in politics at U.C.D. said: 'There's neither precedent nor principle for this current Irish policy, simply political expediency'. He said that the real lesson of the debate over Shannon is 'the Anglo-Saxon impetus in the cabinet', personified by Charlie McGreevy and Mary Harney.
