What the Koran says about Israel

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday May 08, 2002 04:29author by Keith Davies - Writer

What Arab scholars of Islam said say about the 'zionist entity'

. Jewish Roots in the Koran Text:

Did you know that long before the state of Israel ever came into existence, Islam's most famous exegete felt that its borders should be
far more extensive than the present miniscule area of land it now occupies?
And that if Muslims were to listen to him, there would be no such talk of "occupied territories"? several scholars Here is Abu Ja'far Muhammad al-Tabari (died 922) gives several opinions of the Israel as referred to in the Koran:
(1) Sinai and surrounding area
(2) Greater Syria (i.e. Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and part of Iraq).
(3) Others said: jericho.
(4) Damascus, Palestine and some of Jordan

And no! This quote does not come from some doctored edition of the classical text that has been prepared by pro-Israel extremists. It comes from the Arabic translation of "Jami al yan 'an ta'wil aay al qur'aan" , published in 1961 in Egypt by the Dar al Ma'arif.
(Vol 10, p. 167-9).

I know zero about the teachings of
the koran but it seems to be that the problem of a large population of settled people being dispossed of their homes and livelihoods because of some ancient idea of ownership is not new nor could ever end well.

I give you the Ulster plantation. Or the claims
of Mugabe's followers to the white owned farms in
Zimbabwee, which is driving the country to financial ruin. Maybe different sides to the same ruinous penny.

I just see how placing a simple convenient formula like an ancient land policy recommendation onto a complex social conflict of worlds that is Israel and Palestine is going to fix anything.

My tuppence worth.
decoy.

Your comments obviously suggest you do not have a clue what your talking about. The reason why the conflict exists is because the Jews brought prosperity to the area of Palestine and caused about 400,000 people to migrate to work on Jewish farms and industries between 1880 and 1920. 300,000 were arabs who migrated illegally when the turks ruled and had no legal right to settle in the land similar to the mexicans who migrated illegally to the U.S.

America and Europe have two different views of the conflict. The Euros who are mostly leftist liberals wrongly view the Palestinian Arabs as victims and America view Israel as the only successful country in the Middle East.

Palestinians are victims of their leaders jealousy, power mongering and anti Semitism. It has nothing to do with land. If it were why was their only 141,000 living in Palestine including 24,000 jews in 1850.

what are you trying to say? that the illegal zionist settlements are valid?

who cares what the koran says. not every palestinian is a muslim, and they want their land, not because of some religious reason, but because it is illegally being taken away from them.

i strongly suggest you educate yourself on what is happening in palestine before you post rubbish like this.
