Peace Ribbons ?

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday May 08, 2002 11:45author by G Collinsauthor email garcollins at hotmail dot comauthor phone 0876420711

How about an end to this GR protest, especially if it is to include political plackards and the like. I would like to attend because I was disgusted at the treatment of people that night but I do not want to be misrepresented by anyone else. How about a group getting together and organising white peace ribbons to be handed out and worn by anyone against the police brutality that night. This may be a silent peaceful way of protesting. If something does break out on thursday all the good work will be lost. Mail, call or text if you like to help out. G Collins. PEACEFUL Protester

"PEACEFUL" Hold on a second, nobody is calling for a full scale rebellion, occupation of the G.P.O. etc.. Just to put things in perspective. However the people who of late have made points about the likelyhood of the pigs putting people into the crowd to cause trouble (they would want to be very stupid if they have not thought of this), or of their being trouble, or of this being a fucking gimmick by the S.W.P. are making very relevant and correct points.
Which is why you should go: Organise in groups to make sure it is peaceful and make your own banners etc.. to counter the S.W.P. recruiting stunt.
It's not going to be called off and the S.W.P./Leninoids in general are not going to stop being what they are - thus the problems inherent in this must be countered.
Don't run away.

BTW:
Fair play to the organisers of Monday's R.T.S.
