We've started a global citizen campaign calling for the United Nations to relocate its headquarters to Geneva until the United States expresses a willingness to abide by its obligations under the United Nations Charter and in protest to the illegal aggression against Iraq.

We've started a global citizen campaign calling for the United Nations to relocate its headquarters to Geneva until the United States expresses a willingness to abide by its obligations under the United Nations Charter and in protest to the illegal aggression against Iraq.

Please visit the campaign website at http://moveunhq.eccmei.net

If you like what we're doing, please sign the statement as a petition and forward the URL on your list and to other interested parties and encourage others to spread the word and URL as well. It will require an enormous number of signitures for this project to work, but it only takes a minute. Translators willing to translate the appeal into other languages are also being actively sought.

Thank you,

John Sigler

The Swiss are the international bankers of Imperialism. Best friends of everything nasty form the Nazis to probably Sadaam. Pick a third world country with relatively clean hands.

Anyway the vast majority of the UN are either dictatorships or Imprerialists

When was the last time they paid? They have been in arrears for years and when they pay they use it more as a bribe. The reason the US allowed the UN into NYC was simply to bug the entire mission. The reason the Soviet Union accepted that scenario was to have the opportunity to get 300 more "staffers" on the ground to spy on the Americans.

All in all both dinosaurs' days as world mediators is history. Neither has nor had the moral capacity or right to decide for the rest of humanity.

Moving the UN out is the best of all solutions and quite possibly the best message to send America's faltering democracy!

Move it ASAP to wherever.New York is heartily sick of it.Oh and dont forget to pay the 300 MILLION DOLLARS parking fines outstanding to NYC caused by diplomats and associated personel cars.
Along with appx 200 Million in misc unpaid bills for police time wasted by diplomatic incidents of diplomats being picked up for soliciting prostitutes, shoplifting, moving traffic violations, unpaid rents. No wonder NYC is so broke.

In its present form the UN is a victor's club of WW2 - hence permanent vetos on the security council for Britain, US, Russia, China and France. Furthermore in general there is no proportionality, i.e. a handfull of people in some island state have the same say as a billion in India. To add insult to injury, I believe the US hasn't been paying its dues since the Reagan era, which as stated by another comment, were 60% as each country's contribution is supposed to be a percentage of GNP.
