Practical things to oppose war
ICTU and many unions have made statements or taken part in demonstrations against war. To-date they haven't done much. It's time to show they're serious.
For starters SIPTU should put up anti-war banners in the windows of their various premises - Liberty Hall (Dublin) and Connolly Hall (Cork) are often used to put up slogans for the Labour Party during elections - why not put up "No to War" at this urgent time. Both are key city centre locations passed by thousands of motorists and pedestrians every day. Other union premises may also be suitable (ICTU in Parnell Square, MSF, Mandate, etc).
If you're serious you should make an effort.

"There will be a lobby of The ICTU Special Delegate Conference on Pay on Wednesday 26th March starting at 10.00am outside Liberty Hall. All the officials from the national union head offices and Delegates from around the country will be present. Could you manage to get there to leaflet delegates from 10am on, the conference starts at 10.30am."
Come along and make that point to them.

O bella ciao - Lyrics
Una mattina mi son svegliato...
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
O partigiano, portami via..
O bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
o bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
E seppellire lassù in montagna..
o bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
o bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
o bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao
and talking about hitting these bastards where it hurts most, in their pockets!
