In recent times there have been many racist and inflammatory statements about refugees and asylum seekers, much of it coming from Fianna Fail, but also from some of the other establishment parties. Now that the war on Iraq is creating more and more refugees these pro-war deputies should be asked if they will welcome these refugees into Ireland
Noel O'Flynn of Cork North Central constantly used the refugee situation during the last election to make political capital during the last election.
He, and others of his ilk, should be reminded that his vote for US military refuelling at Shannon is helping to make thousands of Iraqi people homeless, many will have no choice but to leave their homeland. The question is, will Noel and his pro-war chums agree to taking in some of these refugees?
All government TDs should be asked this question. Put them under pressure.
