I am tired as well but I'll go out and be there because what else can we do? I am sure that the people in Iraq are tired too...
I think we can listen to, and speak to people more. Being out in the streets is great - I mean that - but there's still a lot of misinformation out there which needs to be tackled, and a lot more we could be doing.
Help organize a talk or video screening in your town or area. Write to people, speak to them via your local media, and keep reminding people that its *lives* not "targets" which are being destroyed in Iraq. Avoid despair, which is a luxury unavailable to people in Basra and Baghdad today. Keep your hopes up and explore active nonviolent methods to stop the war machine passing through Ireland. Celebrate and support the acts of courage against military bases and houses of power around the world. Karen is still in Limerick prison - write to her.
We have to make the cost of allowing the USA to continue to use Shannon higher. This can be best done by applying pressure to vulnerable points in the Irish economy, such as transnational corporations etc. This is similar to what american anti war activists are doing strangly enough.
There are many legitimate targets in Ireland. Ireland is an outpost of the Anglo-American military-industrial complex. Opportunities for non-violent direct action and resistance abound.
Indymedia Ireland is a media collective. We are independent volunteer citizen journalists producing and distributing the authentic voices of the people. Indymedia Ireland is an open news project where anyone can post their own news, comment, videos or photos about Ireland or related matters.
