RTE 'anti-war' stations to be dropped from Sky

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Tuesday April 01, 2003 22:19author by Rembrant

RTE Radio 1 and 2FM are to be dropped from Sky's EPG following a row over coverage of the war in Iraq. Sky had already protested to RTÉ about their anti-war coverage, saying it is biased. Although they will be removed at midnight tonight, both RTÉ Radio 1 & 2FM will still be available via the 'Other Channels' menu. They consider RTE's coverage to be anti-war???!!!

There must be a direct line from the US Embassy and Berties office to Fr Bob Collins office and the newsroom.

For once I have to credit RTE over last nights Prime Time in which they showed pretty graphic footage of dead civillians, including children. These were not shown on other networks as they were deemed"too distressing".Truth hurts sometimes.
