How opposed is the Catholic church in Ireland to this war of civilisations?

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Sunday April 06, 2003 13:42author by crusading knight

These Catholic bishops and priests were very clear and explicit when condemning the provos and every civillian they killed with bombs a few years ago. Maybe the larger bombs made in the USA are ok?

However I have been told that many priests have made very half hearted statements from their pulpits about appealing for an end to violence in this war for oil. A friend of mine said she has came away confused about whether some priests was condemning Bush and the US or their victims who were fighting back in recent sunday sermons?

The pope has strongly opposed this war against Islam, but most Irish priests have not clearly condemned it, and the US of 'born again Bush' Bishop Kirby is one honourable exception, but where is the well known and outspoken opponent of bombings one Cathal Daly?

It's because most Irish priests are down to earth common sense people who know that the Pope called it wrong on rthis issue and that the best prospects for peace in this century is to blast ridiculous regimes like the Baathists into smithereens.

That's why. The Pope is a stupid fuck.
