People Before Profit. The Tobin Tax & the campaign to end world poverty. A public talk by Donnacha Ó'Briain. Metropole Hotel, MacCurtain st. Cork. Wednesday April 9th, 7:30pm. The Tobin Tax (James Tobin) would put a small levy on every currency transaction engaged in by the big banks. This would raise over € 100 billion per year to be used as part of a Global Humanitarian Fund to eradicate poverty. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session followed by ideas and group participation of how we can get a campaign going. All welcome.
