Iraq War folly causes recent local NI job losses

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Tuesday May 20, 2003 21:59author by dusted and disgusted

Ripples from the Iraq 2 war folly has a knock on effect on the NI economy. As multinational big buisness companies close shop in Northern Ireland, leaving thousands jobless, as these same multinational companies rush to relocate to Iraq to exploit the desperate war weary iraqi peasant work/slave force.

Multinational companies planning to close shop in ulster and relocate to Iraq, are Gallaghers cigarette factory, and also Desmonds of Omagh. These are a few of the big buisness companies who are hoping to avoid high overheads, and take advantage of lax health and safety and union laws, a desperate workforce/slave force to relocate to war weary Iraq. You've supported the war in Iraq, so lets not moan about its after affects. Idle hands make work for the devil, so its with this in mind, we know you're going to support multinational companies relocating to Iraq. Yes on the down side many local people in Northern Ireland will lose their jobs, but on the plus side big buisness companies, will be able to make bigger profits, due to having to fork out less for wages, health and safety equipment, pensions etc.

This is a completely bogus story

Gallaghers are closing a factory in Dublin and moving their reduced opertion north where some workers are also to be laid off. The northern factory is NOT closing and Gallaghers are Not investing in a factory in Iraq.

So what is the purpose of this contribution?

The RTE program last night showed how 20% of the cigarettes sold in the North and Britian are smuggled either directly or via the Republic from third countries.

The reason for this smuggling is the higher duty imposed by the British government.

The programme showed how one individual was able to make STG 500 profit in one day by smuggling a case full of roll-your-own tobbacco from Belguim via Dublin airport.

They are investing in a factory in Iraq, Gallaghers faxes were intercepted and these clearly stated Gallaghers intentions to relocate to a third world country. Similarly Aerospace lombardier are moving alot of their operations to Iraq. The purpose of this post, is to expose the greed and exploitative nature of such corporations who after so many years, of milking loyal Irish workforces, suddenly decide to lay off entire workforces when new pastures and profits beckon.

WHY NOT MOVE THIS? OR DOES IT HAVE TO BE AN STORY NOT FLATTERING TO THE US/UK BEFORE YOU MOVE IT.

A POLICY OF FILING UP THE SPACED BETWEEN VALID STORIES IS OBVIOUSLY IN ACTION IN NOT-INDEPENDENT MEDIA
