Apart from the fact that posting a link without any comment, analysis, or indeed text is hardly "being the media", the headline here cuts out the prefix "Ex-" from the Irish Times report.
So the headline from the Times is " Ex-Labour man admits having drugs for sale", which is a little different (though still sensationalised) from "Labour man and drugs".
I hear the Sun are looking for a headline writer though...
Facing a 10 year sentence is pretty harsh. What was your point Martan? Perhaps it was that drug-laws should be repealed?
Now, the real scandal will be that he'll do less time because as an affluent member of society he'll have more resources to draw on to get him out of the system and the judges and remand boards will see him as having more to lose.
I hope not. If anyone hears the follow up please let us all know.
I oppose mandatory sentences for any offence, but it would be a shame to see discretion used for the sake of someone's previous political career / friends in high places.

I would say that the chap became an ex-labour man as soon as he was convicted of drugs, Daithí....
I'd say he has some connections and will get off
