Good buzz....

I heard that the good bus was cancelled and that the 'autonomous activists' were going together using public transport.

Is this true?

author by laughing boypublication date Wed May 28, 2003 14:55author address author phone

I laughed my head off when I heard that this so called "good" "bus" was cancelled. You crusties couldn't even organise a piss up in a brewery! You are pathetic! How are you meant to organise the overthrow of capitalism (of course not all the crusty hippy dippys want to do that most are content with just making things a bit nicer) if you can't even organise a poxy bus?

Wow what limited imagination.

I think lads the 'good bus' was also a concept rather then just being a long vehicle with a load of wheels. And from the report above the concept has indeed got to Evian. But if you want to lead the chanting of "bus good, train bad' don't let us stop you!

author by good bus supporterpublication date Wed May 28, 2003 15:57author address author phone

At least they managed to organise something. You couldn't even go to the toilet without asking for permission to the swp political committee. And if they say no you'll have to shit in your pants. You are meant to lead the revolution, you can't even organise a weekly tabloid. For christ's sake, shut up!

author by Gaillimhedpublication date Wed May 28, 2003 16:14author address author phone

yeah sure, it is easy to laugh, the bus was cancelled because they couldnt get numbers organised, and when they got there one of them didnt even have a passport and was sent home.
But
the point is that these guys are getting off their arse and DOING something,
so fair play to one and all
Good luck in Evian, and i hope you all come back safe.

unlucky hippies,oh well i shall be going on the *bad* bas or evil bus or whatever, but hey at least it is actually a bus and at least i have a passport.meow!!!!!!

ah yes the truly revolutionary spirit of hiring a coach from a private (kavanaghs of urlingford who operate a number of the most lucrative 'private competition to CIE' routes in Ireland) company.

Obviously part of a multilayered approach to destroying capitalism, another step of which is to ridicule the use of public transport.

why limit yourself to the 'bad' bus(strange choice of phrase, I wonder does it indicate a deeper malaise?) when you could hire a car from AVIS or Hertz, or maybe even get micheal o'leary to charter you a plane.

if you studied really hard for your exams and get a good enough piece of paper you might even be chosen to be allowed inside the red-zone(another suspect choice of phrase) when you grow up.

author by free spiritpublication date Wed May 28, 2003 17:49author address author phone

wow, if that's any hint of your position on immigration, thanks god you don't stand a chance to get into power: no passport, though shit. no room for sans papiers in our socialist state.

author by hunterpublication date Wed May 28, 2003 18:22author address author phone

everyone knows that if they go to these demos (i've been to a few), the authorities will use any excuse to turn people away. its not hard logic to follow - if you want to get in, bring your passport. just cos you don't agree with the law (and neither do i) doesn't mean it doesn't exist. hence the reason why i dont light up in front of coppers.

but the real question about this thread is not good bus/bad bus - but IS IT NEWS???? a few people from ireland have arrived in a foriegn country. WOW! now that doesn't ahppen everyday does it. And come on, we ALL know that if GR/SWP put up a post GR have arrived in Evian they would be ridiculed for clogging the wire (with good reason). So it's ok for 'autonomous' activists to clog the wire, but not trots?

And, personally, I do think the Good Bus arriving in a foreign country IS news--- at least for indymedia ireland. I hope there'll be more updates as the week goes on.

yes, surprise surprise another of indymedia's articles has been turned into another piece to fit in with rantology and general decaying intellectual matter. This is really tiring, boring and is doing nothing for no one. Constructive crticism leads to intelligent argument, channel your frustrations into a different, perhaps by not spending so much time infront of a computer and engaging with PEOPLE and a book you might learn alot more.

why dont u all grow up! More buses and more people that go the better, are we not all supposed to be aiming to disrupt the G8?Why dont you all put your silly egos aside and concentrate on sending indymedia e-mails of some value. If i was visiting this site for the first time i would be scared off by you lot.

The GR crowd had to cancel one of their buses because they couldn't get the numbers together & the one bus they did get was oversubscribed. The 'Good' people didn't get a bus together at all.I think that is a great example of the our gang/your gang mentality of the 'movement' that means no one can work together. I'm off to the bog to form a real 'movement' after reading more of the same shite on this link.

Barry "kavanaghs of urlingford" are also total low pay bastards to work for.

i'm pretty sure the name was tongue in cheek, but you have to have not just a lopotomy but your sense of humour surgically removed to be SWP so no wonder they took offence and dubbed theirs the Evil Bus. it's not about not working together people get rightly pissed off

The thread ain't news as far as I can see. Went to the site (linked at bottom of article)expecting an up-date of activities but there didn't seem to be any.

Mad'bussed'aur'of'it though.....

"the sectarians are the trots who spread disimformation about the good bus being cancelled" Pat C 22 april.
So rather admit they were wrong the anarchists go through the charade of calling the few people in their group who are rich enough to be able to go by train "the good bus". But ,then again,if you could pretend you had a bus maybe you're all just sitting around in a circle together ,holding hands and pretending to be in Evian .

The anonymous SWP/GR posters seem to have lost the run of themselves here.

In the past the SWP/GR have advertised union busters Ryanair as the way to fly to protests. Now the SWP/GR choose to use a non-unionised low pay coach company to get to Evian.

OK comrades, there are reasons why you do this. But it gets a bit hard to stomuch when you start attacking comrades on indymedia because they are travelling by a unionised public company? And even harder to stomuch when you boast that your low waged private company is getting you there cheaper.

Cop yourselves on!

author by silly salpublication date Thu May 29, 2003 17:27author address author phone

O, so you didn't take the good bus because you couldn't get a unionised coach company. You fucked out of principal in other words So that explains it .And there was me thinking it was because you were a bunch of disorganized middle class fantasists.

author by Noonepublication date Thu May 29, 2003 17:56author address author phone

this all look like bitching to anyone else? I mean seriously, I go to as many demonstrations and protests as possible, and I'm not part of ANY party. As someone who isnt part of a political party I can nuetraly (dunnospelling) say that these petty arguments between the SP and SWP and who ever else is a 'turn off' for people joining their organisations.

Just a thout.

Got passport and still made it by this evening despite late trains aswell! To all you who have passports and still didnt come stop clogging up the news wire with petty whining get of your asses and get out and do something (try and learn from the "smelly crusties" :)
