SIPTU National Industrial Secretary attacks locked out pilots
SIPTU National Industrial Secretary attacks locked out pilots.
The attack by Noel Dowling, SIPTU National Industrial Secretary, on the Aer Lingus pilots, on the day (30th May) strike breaking aircraft and crews were doing their work, serviced by Airport workers including SIPTU members, and following a Company announcement of a lock out of the pilots, will live forever in infamy. We do not hold our breath waiting for a SIPTU statement of equal virulence condemning the use today (31st) of the Public Order Act to arrest 27 SIPTU members in the Dublin Corporation clamping company, for sitting down at the entrance to their depot to prevent strike breaking vans from leaving.
For reports on the Airport statements, including that from Dublin Airport Workers Network (DAWN) calling for solidarity, cf Irish Times and Irish Independent, 31st May.
