remember when Al-Jazeera went on-line in English, just when war tension was at its highest, and that diversion to an american flag happened? (TO Refresh - 'Al-Jazeera' was the most searched word on line - i.e. more search attempts than 'sex')Well, apparantly, the guy who did this patriotic hac as they are called, was caught out, did a plea bargin and didn't get much of a sentence. Although the truth in this kind of stuff is v hard to get to...check the 12th June story on...

A reuters story highlighting FBI concerns on internet security of Oct 17 2002 tempted oodles of patriotic americans to "hack" AlJazeera and anything with an "Al" in the fight on global terrorism.
The result was a WHOPPING 40% increase in domestic _homeland_ prosecutions of hackers.
Ahh yes, that's the time when Al Jazeera were condemned for poor taste in showing pictures of American prisoners... followed shortly by FOX and $KY News showing the same pictures!
