- as busy as during the TV war-
Page 16 of this week's Clare Champion reports that Ireland is still being heavily used by the US military. (eye witnesses report at least 2 military freight flights just yesterday)
According to the Clare Champion 200 military aircraft were granted permission to land at Irish airports this year, with another 200 civilian charters carrying arms.
"Furthermore 2,100 military aircraft and 200 civilian flights carrying arms have been given the go ahead to overfly Irish territory this year"
"figures released earlier this year confirmed that most military overflights were US airforce and Navy flights.
In the region of 11 arms-carrying-flights pass through Irish Airspace on a daily basis, with two landing on average, mostly in Shannon"
"Surprisingly, the figures show that there has been virtually no reduction in traffic since the war ended in May"

So fucking what! We might as well get the business of the yanks rather than the French.
You lot probably know this, but dont forget about Baldonnel.Planes with "United States" written on them seem to do loads of practice landings a lot.
Okay, when the Irish Republic declares war against some country in the Western Hemisphere within the next few centuries, I don't think we should let your transports land if your going to be all snobbish like this, I mean, what are we to you guys, a bunch of lowly Canadians?
